According to a news article posted by Los Angeles Indymedia, there has been an ongoing controversy that hovers around the U.S. Red Cross in its efforts to help restore Haiti. According to this report, despite the millions of donations for Haiti relief coming from all over the world, Haiti, three years after the devastating earthquake, is still in rough shape. “Red Cross, Where is Haiti’s Money?” is the clamour of various women activist groups that rallied in various parts of the globe. In line with this, Réflexions Stratégiques Sur Haïti (Strategic Reflections on Haiti: Rescuing a World Heritage in Peril), written by Luc Rémy, highlights the oppression and injustice that has been plaguing the Haitian people as they fall prey to opportunistic foreign powers.

As a teacher and researcher in Social Science his whole life, Rémy has come to an understanding of the Haitian Issue. In his book, readers will journey through Haiti and the epic revolution of its people, from slavery and colonization era, to the current occupation and re-colonization by foreign and multinational civil and armed forces. Compelling, the book depicts a national landscape and situation where the Founding Father’s heritage is today more and more abandoned. It insists on a lawlessness environment developed and maintained in the country while all kinds of foreign private and public groups, including the United Nations, are consuming its land and even partitioning the national territory amidst an impressive rush toward important metallic and non-metallic resources.

Written in a world-wide prospect for better understanding of the Haitian Issue and World Affairs, Réflexions Stratégiques Sur Haïti ( Strategic Reflections on Haiti: Rescuing a World Heritage in Peril) presents a particularly rich and coherent material. Insightful and thought-provoking, this literary masterpiece is a beacon of hope and light for the abused but resilient people of Haiti.
