Ann Arbor, Michigan (PRWEB) May 12, 2009
NEXCESS.NET, LLC (http://www.nexcess.net ), a leading web hosting service provider, announced today that it has launched a new product called the SIP, or Secure Isolated Platform. Each SIP is a tightly integrated selection of hardware and software, optimized for security and performance and focused around a third-party application. SIP plans benefit from R1Soft's Continuous Data Protection (CDP) backup technology, among other security and performance features. All SIP servers are hosted in NEXCESS.NET's privately owned data center located in Dearborn, MI.
The first line of SIP plans are focused around the popular Magento open-source e-commerce platform. NEXCESS.NET has a long-established relationship with Varien, the makers of Magento and has extensive expertise in configuring and hosting the Magento e-commerce software.
"We've set up Magento sites for hundreds of customers since its inception, and we've invested a lot into optimizing our hosting environment for Magento - as well as targeting what other services Magento customers typically require," said Chris Wells, President of NEXCESS.NET. "We decided to design a set of Magento hosting plans as our first SIP packages. These plans will include everything that someone interested in running a Magento-based online store needs."
Each SIP plan is hosted on one of a series of high-end Dell PowerEdge quad-core servers running with up to 32 gigabytes of RAM. Each server has been heavily optimized for performance and security - each uses high-performance 15,000 RPM hard drives in a RAID 10 configuration, and benefits from a number of operating system optimizations that allow them to efficiently host the Magento software. Furthermore, each server is backed up regularly using R1Soft's CDP technology. All servers are hosted in NEXCESS' secure, modern data center where they are connected to the Internet via redundant high-speed connections.
The Magento SIP plans start at $24.99 for the SIP 100 hosting plan, which includes everything needed to run a Magento-based online store - 7.5 gigabytes of space, 75 gigabytes of monthly transfer and up to 16 gigabytes of RAM. "These are solid plans," said Wells. "SIPs offer more core resources than our competitors at a better price - and the customer gets a site hosted on high-end hardware and benefits from our extensive Magneto expertise."
For customers who require more performance, the plans range all the way up to the SIP 400 hosting plan, a dedicated Magento SIP server that offers greater performance than anything on the market. The SIP 400 plans start at $499.95 per month.
"Of course, some customers may need truly enterprise-level Magento hosting, and we're prepared to offer that as well," said Wells. NEXCESS can offer custom-designed Magento server clusters for extremely high-traffic online stores. "A lot of people think Magento can't be hosted on a server cluster - but it can be done, we've done it and for a large e-commerce site it's a necessity" he said. Interested potential customers are encouraged to call or email for more information.
Those interested in the new Magento SIP plans can read about them on the NEXCESS.NET site at http://www.nexcess.net/magento. Further details of the plans including in-depth case studies and extensive benchmarking information will be available in the coming weeks.
