Malcolm Anderson’s new novel “Operation Odyssey” (published by AuthorHouse) is a rousing adventure story that blends history with science fiction to take readers on a journey with the apostle Paul.
Anderson’s top goal in writing “Operation Odyssey” was to make it a great novel that conveyed timeless concepts while staying relevant to the contemporary world. “I wanted the Apostle Paul’s odyssey to be as historically accurate as possible,” he says, “yet be comparable to the original voyage of Odysseus after the fall of Troy.”
Though this may be a common idea, Anderson puts his own unique mark on the novel by adding science fiction. “I wanted to reveal how the journey of the Apostle Paul almost resulted in his death by stoning had he not been rescued by Jesus and future technology. Also, upon his recovery, Paul was provided with a Force Field which actually rendered he and Barnabus invincible … unless they choose to relinquish same to prove a point.”
A scientist and engineer by training, Anderson brings a sense of marked authenticity to his story, built around the experience he gained working at Cape Canaveral, Fla., in the 1950s.
