Manga Chat Service to Debut at Anime Expo in Los Angeles

Manga Chat, a free online chatting service utilizing customizable original manga characters and available in English, has been released in beta version by Japanese company Samurai Factory.

Tokyo, Japan (PRWEB) June 25, 2009 -- In response to the large demand for Japanese manga related products around the world, Manga Chat has been released as an online platform for fans of manga and anime to communicate with each other across borders. Developed by the staff of professional manga artists at Samurai Factory in Japan, the beta version of the service has been released to coincide with the Anime Expo (July 2 to July 5) in Los Angeles.

Every chat results in a customized manga, as users can select their own character, choose their own expressions and pick their own background imagery. Users can chat one-on-one with their registered friends online, or enter manga and anime themed chat rooms. The service offers connectivity with Twitter, and is currently developing applications for Facebook and MySpace users.

With over 1.7 million users accessing their services in Japan, Samurai Factory has kept a similar approach in launching Manga Chat overseas free of charge. The service is available in English, and they will be releasing other European and Asian language versions later this year.

"There has never been a fusion of the popularity of Japanese manga and social networking services, which we feel we have successfully accomplished with Manga Chat," says company President Yusuke Shinoda (32). He goes on to focus on the cultural impact manga has had internationally. "Manga is a powerful communication tool and we wanted to create a unique space where people around the world could exchange ideas and express themselves through manga. This is the power of the borderless internet." Plans include holding international competitions open to manga creators worldwide to introduce new characters to the service.

Samurai Factory will be presenting Manga Chat at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles from July 2 to July 5, where attendees will have the opportunity to experience the service firsthand.

Samurai Factory is a provider of free online services, and they provide a range of free web and blogging tools in their "Ninja" series of releases. To find out more, visit Samurai Factory.
