Imagine a luxury hotel. Near a beach. Then add in golf for a charity tournament to benefit children. That all adds up to a terrific day, right?

Thanks to the Manhattan Beach Marriott, that day is coming in September.

The Manhattan Beach hotel is holding the sixth annual Children’s Miracle Network Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013. The event benefits the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, a nonprofit, academic pediatric medical center.

The nine-hole shotgun event at the golf course hotel starts at noon with registration and a light lunch. A silent auction follows before the 1:30 p.m. nine-hole scramble. After the round is over, guests will enjoy a barbecue, live auction and entertainment beginning at 4:30 p.m. The day concludes with team awards and tee and player prizes for holes-in-one, putting and lowest score.

Prices to participate begin at $50 for just the barbecue or $500 for a Major Prize Donor and recognition in the program and at the event.

Sponsorship opportunities continue at $1,000 for a one-eighth page recognition, tee gifts and sign, meet-and-greet and dinner for two. Golf sponsorships begin at $1,500 at the Silver level and include one foursome with golf, dinner buffet and one-fourth page recognition. Gold-level sponsorship at $2,500 includes a foursome for golf and a half-page recognition, while Platinum-level sponsorship gives the company or individual full-page recognition as well as the other benefits for $5,000.

The nine-hole course at the Manhattan Beach Golf Club is 1,209 yards long with a par-27 great for all skill levels.

Before or after a great day on the course, visitors can stay at the hotel in Manhattan Beach, which is near the water and fine shopping, as well as just minutes from Los Angeles International Airport.
