Market America Celebrates 14 Years of Success

Market America's continues success with expanded operations and plans for more.

Market America, a product brokerage and Internet marketing company specializing in One-to-One Marketing and Mass Customization, is celebrating its 14th year in operation. Founded in 1992 by James and Loren Ridinger, Market America has quickly grown into an international force with operations in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Taiwan.

Market America recorded $360 million in retail sales in 2005. The company’s founder and CEO, James Ridinger attributes Market America’s success to its business model a combination of Internet and one-to-one marketing he calls “high tech and high touch.”

“We are changing the way businesses sell to consumers,” said Ridinger. “Since the Internet became an everyday service and necessity, businesses have searched for the ideal way to use it. We combine the convenience of the Internet with a human touch. That difference is the key factor to our continued growth. Our North America operations are stronger than ever while our Pacific Rim operations are growing explosively.”

The company has been on a hiring binge lately, adding over 75 new employees in 2005 and 2006. Staff has been added to increase support for the programming and international support areas. “We have focused our efforts on improving our technology to better serve our distributors and customers,” said Ridinger.

Market America will need all of its employees for its 2006 International Convention. The annual event regularly draws 20,000 people to the Greensboro Coliseum and contributes nearly $20 million to the economy. This year’s event will take place August 3 – 6.

While preparing for the International Convention, Market America is also hosting events in its Pacific Rim operations countries. This year, the company will also host the 4th Annual Australian Convention and the first Taiwan Convention. The company opened operations in those countries in 2002 and 2005, respectively.
