I'm excited to share the culture of Super-Sod and recognize the people and passion behind our pallets of sod.
ATLANTA, Ga. (PRWEB) November 09, 2016
During summer 2016, Super-Sod welcomed an assistant marketing director to maintain and expand the company’s marketing efforts as Super-Sod increases its reach throughout the Southeast.
Allison Fortner graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in agricultural communication and a certificate in leadership and service. Fortner joined the Super-Sod team shortly after graduation.
“The University of Georgia trained Allison well with the skillset I need on my team, but I quickly found out Allison also has those special talents that cannot be taught,” said Hillary Thompson, Super-Sod marketing director. “She has become indispensable to our marketing endeavors, and I look forward to what we’ll be doing together.”
Originally from Cleveland, Georgia, Fortner’s involvement in the National FFA Organization as a high school student inspired her interest in the agriculture industry. During her time at UGA, Fortner worked in agriculture as assistant to the executive director at Georgia Milk Producers Inc. and as a communications intern with the American Hereford Association. She also gained a global perspective during her weeks studying culture-centered communication in rural Romania.
At Super-Sod, Fortner interacts with customers via Supersod.com’s online chat feature, edits informational videos, writes digital content and designs print and digital media. She spends time away from her desk photographing lawns, turfgrass farms and Super-Sod events.
“It’s a joy to learn about the turfgrass industry from the Super-Sod family,” Fortner said. “I love developing creative ideas that highlight our products and help our customers.”
Fortner is based out of Super-Sod of Atlanta’s farm and store in Cartersville, Georgia, but her efforts influence the company’s marketing initiatives throughout the Southeast. Her current projects include promoting TifTuf Bermuda grass and developing an “About Us” campaign to showcase Super-Sod’s culture and employees.
“I’m excited to share the culture of Super-Sod and recognize the people and passion behind our pallets of sod,” Fortner said.
In her free time, Fortner enjoys traveling, listening to and learning from podcasts and trying new recipes.
