GREENVILLE, Miss. (PRWEB) June 07, 2013
Readers join Hardy as she takes them through her early years with stories about her family, friends and pets that she grew up with. Each page takes readers deep into the South as they join Hardy in rural Mississippi and learn how family and community were essential to the town, and to her growth and prosperity. As she says, “we were willing to help each other through the good and bad times.”
An excerpt from “Snippets of Truths”:
“Pea picking was a delight. We picked them daily, some to sell and some for our own dinners and supper. Shelling peas made our fingers turn purple and irritated them so much that they became tender. The pea-shelling activity didn’t last long because we knew there was a new day to come and the process would start over again. These chores helped us to bond as a family because we worked together to get the job done. Selling peas and cucumbers helped my mama and daddy to have enough cash to purchase necessary items we did not produce on the farm.”
It is the author’s hope that after reading her book, readers will reflect back on their lives and share their own memories with those close to them.
