Trig Medical, Inc., a health technology company specializing in labor progression management and interventional ultrasound guidance, today announced that it is participating in the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine 2012 Annual Meeting in Dallas February 8-10.

Trig Medical, which will exhibit at Booth #309, will showcase LaborPro®, a new technology that combines ultrasound imaging with GPS-like position tracking to provide the objective information and three-dimensional representations needed to accurately assess labor progression and improve maternal and fetal care.

Launched in the U.S. at the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Annual Clinical Meeting in May 2011, LaborPro has many benefits, including:

  • Allowing clinicians to obtain objective and accurate measurements non-invasively
  • Enabling mothers to see their baby’s progress on the screen
  • Helping hospitals reduce risks
  • Reducing the need for manual exams
  • Improving patient comfort
  • Mitigating the potential for infection in the mother and baby

“The SNFN meeting is a good opportunity for Trig Medical to present our innovative technology to the top OB/GYNs in the world,” said President & CEO Dr. Yoav Paltieli.

More than 1,000 babies have been delivered with LaborPro; installations that are increasing in U.S. healthcare facilities. Throughout the world, 13 published papers and abstracts have summarized the clinical experience.

Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine 2012 Annual Meeting

The SMFM Annual Meeting brings together physicians who have advanced knowledge of the obstetrical, medical, genetic, and surgical complications of pregnancy and their effects on both the mother and fetus. Physicians and scientists present hundreds of papers and posters on cutting edge topics in the field of maternal-fetal medicine.

Established in 1977, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a non-profit membership group for obstetricians/gynecologists who have additional formal education and training in maternal-fetal medicine. The society is devoted to reducing high-risk pregnancy complications by providing continuing education to its 2,000 members on the latest pregnancy assessment and treatment methods. It also serves as an advocate for improving public policy, and expanding research funding and opportunities for maternal-fetal medicine.
