MaxxCAT, a leading provider of high-performance search appliances at a low price point, has introduced a program designed to bring the benefits of enterprise search to budget-conscious and resource-strapped colleges, universities, school systems and other qualified educational buyers.

Available for a limited time, the Educational Buyers Program combines either MaxxCAT’s popular EX-5000 enterprise search appliance or the recently introduced SB-350 search appliance with integration services and extended support.

“Educational buyers often have higher query volumes, but also less money and people available to integrate a search solution,” said Mike Moskal, ISG Program Manager. “The SB-350 provides that performance for smaller buyers while the EX-5000 boosts the performance and can handle larger quantities of data. Most importantly though, we’re also addressing the educational buyer's support and integration needs.”

The Educational Buyers Program offers two options. The $3,995 SB-350 features a 500GB index storage size and is capable of handling 5,000 executed Queries Per Minute. Built for more demanding environments, the EX-5000 starts at 1TB and can handle 12,500 execute Queries Per Minute. The EX-5000 starts at $8,995.

While all MaxxCAT search appliances are easy to integrate, educational buyers often face resource shortages in their IT departments. To address this concern, MaxxCAT will include three hours of Integration Services with each appliance purchased under the Education Buyers Program. The Integration Services Group provides top-level service from the experts who design and build MaxxCAT's appliances, and three hours is typically enough time to implement a search.

Each MaxxCAT appliance comes with a year of email support plus software updates as well as a one year hardware warranty. In addition, educational buyers will receive an extra year of email support plus software updates.
