The Mazda MX-5 Miata has been turning heads and making drivers smile for years, and it continues to wow the automotive press. In fact, automobile reviewers and critics have found little to criticize:

The fundamental mission of a sports car is to put smiles on the faces of its occupants, and few accomplish that mission more effectively than the Miata. -- Car and Driver

The incredible Miata is a testament to the dedication and vision of retiring Mazda chief engineer Takao Kijima, who single-mindedly crafted the little sports car to be the best it could be. According to Edmunds “Inside Line,” the face-lifted 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata ... is the culmination of his life's work, as he's retiring from the company after 25 years.” In fact, with the 2010 Miata, Edmunds notes, “Kijima wanted to go out in style.”

And Kijima did just that. According to Edmunds, he ensured the car’s handling capability would be crisp by using dampers from the race-spec MX-5 NR-A and he made sure the car would benefit from tuning under the hood by configuring the engine to make peak horsepower at 7,000 rpm, with a redline of 7,500 rpm. With 170 horsepower on tap at such high revs, the new Miata becomes a real driver’s car. Says Edmunds: It becomes possible “to really appreciate this ... when you exit a corner and want every herb on tap to get a quick escape.”

Blue Ridge Mazda, Kansas City’s oldest and exclusive Mazda dealer, is proud to offer the 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata, a car that is both a piece of automotive history and engineering artistry, to drivers looking for more from their cars than just transportation.
