Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 09, 2012

Chicago-area shipping company, RIM Logistics, Ltd. is leading a recovery and relief effort to help the citizens of New Jersey who were among the most severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

RIM has established an account - the Rim Logistics, Ltd. - Operation New Jersey Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund - in conjunction with the MB Financial Bank Charitable Foundation to receive tax-free donations. RIM has already contributed an initial deposit of $25,000 toward a stated goal of $50,000.

Bob Mueller, RIM’s CEO, declared, “We’re reaching out to all of our employees, customers and vendors, as well as our friends and family, to help with this initiative. With wide-based support of our mid-western neighbors, we’re providing all the help we can to those who experienced the worst of this devastating storm.”

Over 25 RIM staff members in sales, customer service and operations are putting aside their regular duties to solicit donations from employees, vendors and the general public. Checks made out to the MB Financial Bank Charitable Foundation – Operation New Jersey can be mailed to RIM Logistics, Inc. at 200 N. Gary Ave., Suite B in Roselle, Ill., 60172.

RIM is also accepting contributions of food, clothing, tools and toiletries for direct transport to a high priority location in New Jersey to be determined by the state’s officials. Donations will be accepted by RIM at the address above every day from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. until November 18.

As an MB Financial Bank (MB) commercial customer, RIM has always enjoyed a productive partnership with the bank. Knowing about MB’s Charitable Foundation, Mueller decided to call his relationship manager Scott Bachmann, Vice President, Commercial Banking about this project. MB quickly responded by providing a $2,000 cash donation to the RIM charitable account and by organizing their own “Jerseys for Jersey” drive to collect sweaters and sweatshirts for RIM. Bank employees, customers and the general public are invited to drop off “Jerseys for Jersey” at select MB banking centers during normal banking hours until November 15. "The relationships we form with our customers at MB go well beyond providing banking services and products. We appreciate the initiative Bob Mueller and RIM Logistics took in putting this cause together and hope our 'Jerseys for Jersey' initiative will play a part in helping those affected keep warm. After all, not only is it for a good cause, RIM is our client and that makes their concerns ours, too.”

Clearly, MB’s admiration for RIM’s effort is mutual. In an email to Bachmann, Mueller declared, “I genuinely appreciate your ability to establish this account within 24 hours. Scott, working with you and your associates at MB has been an invaluable experience.”
