Deb Sedberry, Assistant Vice President and Banking Center Manager of the MB Financial Bank located in Glenwood at 18301 S. Halsted St., was a guest panelist at “Soar to the Top: A Successful Path to Your Future - Professional Young Women’s Network Conference,” sponsored by the Professional Women’s Network on November 7, 2012, at the Prairie State College Conference Center.
The conference is designed to help high school girls, ages 14 to 18, develop the professional skills and knowledge they’ll need to succeed in adulthood. It covers a variety of topics including how to dress professionally, network with peers and develop strong communication skills. Sedberry was one of four panel members representing various fields who shared their insights on how to get a job and build a successful career. The other panelists were Donna Mazalin, Sundance Group, Jennifer Artis, Southland Healthcare Forum and La Tonja Ellis, Innophos.
Sedberry joined MB Financial Bank in the spring of 2012 and her involvement with this conference reflects both her personal commitment to the community and MB Financial Bank’s support of professional development for local youth. Recently appointed to the board of the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce, Sedberry is well-known throughout Chicago as an advocate for local businesses and civic causes such as the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Rich Township Food Pantry, Matteson Area Chamber of Commerce, Park Forest Rotary and Habitat for Humanity.
