Credit card provider MBNA have seen a successful pick up of two new products to the UK market.

For these particular cards, once customers are approved, they will be able to transfer a balance of up to 95% of their credit limit, as the cap MBNA sets on balances transfers is higher than most other lenders in the UK market.

The two cards, named the MBNA Balance Transfer Card and the MBNA Dual Credit Card were launched in October and offer features that will make competitors stand up and pay attention. Both cards come with long 0% balance transfer periods and 0% on purchases for a promotional period.

The Balance Transfer Card, as the name suggests, focuses it’s offering around a lengthy balance transfer period that lasts a full 16 months. Such a long transfer period is hard to find in the current climate and few lenders are prepared to offer such a helpful facility to financial consumers. The MBNA Dual Credit Card combines a strong balance transfer 0% period of 12 months as well as 0% on purchases for 12 months and is for those seeking a great all rounder.

Speaking about the two credit cards, product executive for Bank of America Europe Card Services, Will Curley, commented: “We know from speaking to our customers, and potential customers, that they are looking for credit card lenders to deliver greater choice and better offers to the UK credit card market; that’s why we are committed to enhancing and expanding our product portfolio when other lenders may not be.”
Mr Curley went on to say: “For these particular cards, once customers are approved, they will be able to transfer a balance of up to 95% of their credit limit, as the cap MBNA sets on balances transfers is higher than most other lenders in the UK market.”

The two cards are part of an exciting yet sensible range of financial products offered by MBNA and feature market leading customer services built in. These features include credit card Mobile Banking, MBNA’s new ‘on the go’ banking service that you can use through your mobile phone. The service allows users to check balances, make bill payments and manage their account from anywhere with a 3G connection.

The details of the two recently launched card continue to show MBNA’s commitment to sensible lending and transparent financial products. As well as the 16 month 0% balance transfer period, the MBNA Balance Transfer Card also features a low 2.9% handling fee, as long as you transfer the balance within 60 days of opening the account.

The Balance Transfer Card isn’t just a one trick pony, as well as the lengthy balance transfer offer, card-holders will also benefit from 0% on card purchases for the first three months and a standard rate of interest of 16.8% APR (typical) variable.

The MBNA Dual credit card has 12 month 0% balance transfer period on transfers made within the first 60 days of account opening. In addition, this card also comes with 0% on purchases for 12 months, a standard rate of interest of 18.9% APR (typical) variable and just a 2.98% handling fee on all balance and money transfers made within those first 60 days.
