It just makes sense to provide our customers with a way of talking to emergency personnel if they themselves are unable to.

Bay Alarm Medical, a leading provider of senior medical alert systems, today announced that it has begun offering the Vial of Life emergency medical to its new customers, absolutely free. The ground-breaking Vial of Life allows seniors to record critical medical information in advance and store it in a safe place for use by emergency personnel.

"We're very pleased to be offering the Vial of Life, free of charge, to all of our new customers," says Alan Wu, marketing manager for Bay Alarm Medical. "Given what we do, it just makes sense to provide our customers with a way of talking to emergency personnel if they themselves are unable to."

Bay Alarm Medical offers one-button medical alert systems for seniors, together with around-the-clock monitoring by professionally-trained emergency operators. In the event of a medical emergency, operators contact family members, friends, neighbors and, if necessary, local 911 emergency services.

"If we do need to send emergency care to a your home, the information in the Vial of Life could be critical," says Wu. "You may not be able to speak and tell the EMTs about your medications or past medical history."

Data shows that a timely response to a medical emergency has a dramatic impact on the patient's prospects for long-term recovery. The Vial of Life helps emergency service providers understand a senior's condition and provide the right kind of care as quickly as possible.

The Vial of Life (or Vial of L.I.F.E. - Lifesaving Information For Emergencies) asks its users to fill out a brief form listing their medical history, medications, insurance information, emergency contact and other information. The form is then placed in a Vial of Life plastic baggie and attached to their refrigerator door using a magnetic strip. Users also place a Vial of Life decal on your front door so it can be seen by emergency responders.

Each new customer of Bay Alarm Medical's 24/7 medical alert monitoring will automatically receive a Vial of Life kit.

"The Vial of Life is such an easy thing to do," says Wu, "We strongly encourage our new customers to use the kit and keep it up-to-date."
