Medical-Artist.com has completed the production of a rich media communications project for Johnson & Johnson in Europe and have been immediately awarded a further project.
Medical-Artist.com, the medical illustration and specialist medical communications agency, recently finished a project for J&J that involves a combination of rich media assets, including medical illustrations and video. The project for one of J&J’s medical device business units showcases the products’ sophisticated engineering and clinical applications, all delivered on a mobile device platform. The team at Medical Artist.com used their specialist 3D visualization technique to create detailed 3D renders of the products from CAD files. This technique allowed complete devices visualization, cross-sections and device animations to be created of complex and often extremely small components.
With the increasing use of mobile tablet devices in healthcare, the Medical-Artist.com team has built a reputation for being able to deliver the whole package for clinical communication on these types of devices. In this project they combined interactive images along with both 2D and 3D animations of the device use and device positioning within the human anatomy. One of the stand out features of the project was the inclusion of a controllable 3D visualization of the main device. This allows users to spin the device view in all planes and zoom into the device, all at the same time.
Tim Butler, who managed the project for Medical-Artist.com said of the project “The whole team are really proud of what we have put together for J&J as it sets the benchmark for communications to clinicians in this marketplace. The project has really showcased what our team can do by combining classic medical illustrations with 3D anatomy and our device visualization work. Putting this all together with the animations and the 3D component and the final package for use on mobile devices has been challenging but the end result speaks for itself. Rolling straight into another very similar project shows how pleased the client is with what has been achieved, and we look forward to delivering on this one too.”
