We are pleased to continue working with MedjetAssist to make available services that can help them get to the medical facility of their choice if a health emergency arises and they are far from home.
Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 14, 2011
AARP Services, Inc., this week announced the renewal of its longstanding relationship with MedjetAssist, one of the nation’s leading medical evacuation and repatriation membership services. The collaboration will make available to AARP’s millions of members an 18 percent discount on annual and multi-year MedjetAssist memberships.
With a MedjetAssist membership, if an AARP member becomes ill or injured more than 150 miles from their primary residence and requires inpatient hospital care, domestically or internationally, MedjetAssist will arrange comprehensive medical transportation to the hospital of their choice.
“Many AARP members travel regularly, both close to home and also around the world,” said Angela Jones, AARP Services, Inc., Senior Vice President. “We are pleased to continue working with MedjetAssist to make available services that can help them get to the medical facility of their choice if a health emergency arises and they are far from home.”
“We are deeply proud and honored to continue being part of the AARP program as a provider of medical evacuation and repatriation membership services,” said Roy Berger, President and CEO of MedjetAssist. “The AARP brand is synonymous with trust, reliability, and excellence. We are excited to offer this program at very favorable rates for AARP members and look forward to continue providing invaluable peace-of-mind protection and assistance in a time of need.”
The preferred AARP member rates are offered on MedjetAssist’s annual, short-term, Diamond and Platinum memberships. Few platinum cards and healthcare insurance plans offer this level of protection.
To purchase a MedjetAssist membership using the AARP member discount, AARP members can call 1-866-809-4061 or log on to http://www.medjet.com/aarp. AARP members are asked to provide proof of valid AARP membership at the time of purchase.
