About the Children’s Medical Fund
Children’s Medical Fund of New York is based
in New Hyde Park and was established in 1966 by visionaries, who
recognized the region needed a children’s
hospital. The non-profit organization advanced the cause for a hospital
to be built, won the legislative authorization, and raised the funds
necessary for the hospital to be built. Today the Children’s
Medical Fund continues to be the largest contributor to Schneider
Children’s Hospital, which opened in 1983,
and now is part of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System –
an 18-hospital system that is the nation’s
third largest.
Through its year-round efforts and events, the Children’s
Medical Fund Men’s Division brings leaders,
neighbors and individuals from the region together to create awareness
of its mission and fundraise for hospital programs, technology and
research. Its efforts also increase membership and strengthen the
leadership of the Children’s Medical Fund.
