I am truly honored to be in this important position of leadership
Omaha, Nebraska (PRWEB) January 22, 2009
Despite the economic uncertainty many in the healthcare staffing industry witnessed in 2008, Medical Solutions experienced just the opposite with a 43% increase in sales from 2007 to 2008, totaling to over $43 million in revenue. The company attributes its growth to solid business strategies and their focus on the customer.
Noting their recent growth, Medical Solutions is proud to announce the promotions of Christy Johnston to Chief People Officer (CPO) and Craig Meier to Vice President of Sales.
Johnston assumes the newly created position of Chief People Officer, a position that was created as a result of the continued focus on the company's employees and its culture. Johnston, who earned her BA in Communications at Graceland College in Iowa and her Masters in Health Promotion with an emphasis on Human Resources Management, at Nebraska Methodist College, has been with the company for nearly four years. Johnston has nearly seven years of experience in the healthcare staffing industry. During her tenure at Medical Solutions, she has proven herself through a number of management positions including her most recent as a Sales Manager and successfully launched the Community Relations and Wellness programs for the company.
Johnston says, "I am ecstatic about my new role as Chief People Officer. As a company, we are dedicated to our people and have been since the day we opened our doors. We put our people first because we know our success is a direct result of their efforts. We took the natural step to create the People Services division to embrace and cultivate the culture we hold dear for our growing company. It also allows me the time necessary to focus on the needs outside of our business in the community. I truly appreciate the unparalleled opportunity to be a part of the progressive Leadership at Medical Solutions, because here, I know I'm among the best."
Her responsibilities as CPO will be to oversee the development and management of the company's people programs including hiring, training, development, recognition, appreciation and benefits to support and preserve the company's employee-centric culture.
Meier, promoted to Vice President of Sales, a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications, will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the sales cycle, from prospecting, lead generation, negotiations and maintaining an uncompromising focus on service delivery to ensure long-term relationships with travelers and client hospitals. For the last 15 years, Meier has worked positions in sales and management within the Telecommunications and Advertising industries previous to the last seven of those years in the healthcare staffing industry. Meier has been with Medical Solutions for over four years in recent positions such as Manager of Recruiting, executing and managing key business functions and Director of Nursing in which he led the company to successful new heights.
"I am truly honored to be in this important position of leadership," said Meier. "I thoroughly enjoy guiding the staff as well as being an integral part of their professional development here at Medical Solutions."
"Our belief as a company has always been to develop leaders from within; the promotions of these two individuals into newly created positions is an extension of that belief," said Scott Anderson, President and co-owner of Medical Solutions. "It's such a reward to see our employees grow and develop throughout the company. Our talent gives us a competitive edge - Both Craig and Christy are very deserving of these promotions and I look forward to what they will provide to our company and staff."
