Q1Medicare.com released an enhanced Medicare Part D Formulary Browser providing the Medicare community with one online tool for browsing all stand-alone Medicare prescription drug plan formularies. Users only need to select their state and a Medicare Part D plan to easily view drug plan highlights and formulary details. A PlanID search option is also available for users who want to find a plan’s formulary using only the plan’s Contract ID and Plan ID. The Formulary Browser includes formulary drug tier and tier description, preferred pharmacy and mail-order cost-sharing, and details on the drug usage management for each formulary drug.

We developed our Formulary Browser so people could quickly see the details on prescription drugs covered on any stand-alone Medicare Part D plan’s formulary, including any drug usage management restrictions

Q1Medicare.com released their enhanced Medicare Part D Formulary Browser for easy access to all stand-alone Medicare prescription drug plan formularies. The Q1Medicare.com Formulary Browser is designed so the Medicare community could quickly browse a Part D plan’s drug list by just selecting the state, the name of the Medicare Part D plan carrier, and then the name of the specific Medicare plan.

Once a stand-alone Medicare Part D plan is selected, the user can see the plan’s monthly premium, initial deductible and if the plan qualifies for the Low-Income Subsidy $0 monthly premium. The user can then browse drug details by drug name alphabetically. The Formulary Browser provides search results in a chart with the medications listed along with drug strengths and packaging; formulary drug tier and tier description; preferred pharmacy and mail-order cost-sharing or co-payment amounts; and details on drug usage management.

The drug usage management information includes formulary requirements for prior authorization, step therapy, and the specifics of quantity limit restrictions. For example, a drug with utilization management of “Q:6/28Days”, means that this drug has a quantity limit of 6 tablets per 28 days.

The Q1Medicare.com Formulary Browser also includes drug data for Medicare Part D plans that are not currently accepting enrollments or plans that are currently sanctioned by Medicare. Users can find the Q1Medicare.com Formulary Browser directly at: Q1Medicare.com/FormularyBrowser.

As an alternative to searching by state and Medicare plan name, Q1Medicare.com also offers a PlanID search tool. Users can just enter a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan’s Contract ID and Plan ID into the tool (for example: S1234-123). The PlanID search will return Medicare Part D plan highlights including plan name, service area, premium, deductible, cost-sharing, along with a link to plan benefit details and the plan’s formulary. The Q1Medicare.com PlanID search tool can be found directly at: Q1Medicare.com/PlanID/2011.

“We developed our Formulary Browser so people could quickly see the details on prescription drugs covered on any stand-alone Medicare Part D plan’s formulary, including any drug usage management restrictions,” notes Dr. Susan Johnson, technical director and co-founder of Q1Group LLC. “In addition, our PlanID search tool was designed primary for professionals who are trying to browse a drug plan’s formulary, but only have the Medicare Part D plan’s Contract ID and Plan ID.”

As with Q1Medicare.com’s other online tools, the results of the Formulary Browser or the PlanID search can be printed for offline use. Bother the Formulary Browser and the PlanID search are available to everyone free of charge and designed for pc, smartphone and tablet platforms.
