Destination Marketing Association International's (DMAI) empowerMINT.com has announced the chance for a meeting planner to win a $500 American Express gift card. To become eligible, meeting planners must submit a request for proposal (RFP) through empowerMINT.com, where they can search for meeting facilities and connect with convention & visitors bureaus (CVBs). RFPs must be submitted by April 15, 2011, with at least 10 hotel rooms per night in the request. Only one qualified RFP per meeting is eligible. Meeting planners can go here and complete the form, where they will receive a promo code (shown in the upper right-hand corner of the form) to enter as they complete an RFP, as part of the sweepstakes process.
"The ease-of-use, reach and accuracy of empowerMINT.com's RFP submittal system are reasons enough for meeting planners to make it their go-to resource for sourcing and booking meeting destinations," said Christine "Shimo" Shimasaki, managing director of empowerMINT.com. "Just one RFP submitted through empowerMINT.com can be sent to multiple CVBs profiled on empowerMINT.com."
Becoming eligible for inclusion in empowerMINT.com's RFP sweepstakes drawing is a straightforward, three-step process. Meeting planners must:
1. provide their contact information
2. search for destinations and add them to their cart
3. submit an RFP with at least 10 room nights by April 15, 2011
Winners will be selected randomly through random.org. No purchase is necessary to enter. The giveaway ends at midnight ET Friday, April 15, 2011. Full terms and conditions are available for reading here.
Meeting planners may search and compare CVBs on empowerMINT.com to identify a venue not only according to the location they intend to target, but also according to several additional criteria, such as exhibit gross square feet, meeting space, peak sleeping rooms, meeting rooms, permanent seating; minimum largest ballroom space; and pertinent characteristics of nearby hotels and airports.
Furthermore, every destination profile on empowerMINT.com includes up-to-date photos; a link to an article about the destination; a distillation of the top reasons to visit that destination; key information on surrounding airports and hotels; and a link to send an RFP. A page behind every main destination page on empowerMINT.com lists the key contact information of multiple destination marketing experts associated with the corresponding city or region.
Recently, empowerMINT.com launched a new blog, MeetingPlanningPartners.com, a planner-focused blog of continually updating, guest-contributed blog content from meeting planners and CVBs' destination experts alike. More than 100 official destination marketing organizations (also called DMOs or CVBs) have collaborated to create empowerMINT.com, the industry's first collective portal of meeting destinations and the largest repository of post-event reports. Powered by Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI), empowerMINT.com is the fastest and easiest way for meeting professionals to send a request for proposal (RFP) to one or multiple destinations and connect directly with a local destination expert who can help planners save time and money, offer unbiased destination expertise and provide qualified lead distribution, all for free.
In addition, to simplifying the search for destinations based on the planners' requirements, empowerMINT.com allows access to the planners' post-event report, through the planners' profile. DMAI is advocating for accurate and complete histories since this data plays an important role in business qualification and negotiations for DMOs, hotels and planners.
