Elite Meetings International (EMI) appointed Carol M. Lynch as Director of Planner Communications, as a new year kicks off in which innovations such as SpeedRFP will change the way meeting planners and hotels do business. Lynch is a former Vice President of Global Sales at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and brings 30 years in the segment, including executive positions with Stouffer Hotels & Resorts and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Lynch will operate out of the New York City area and can be reached at 646-245-8879 or clynch(at)EliteMeetings(dot)com.
“We are delighted that Carol, a talented and proven industry executive, is joining us as we kick off 2010,” said Kelly Foy, EMI’s Chief Executive Officer. He added, “2009 was a year of tremendous achievement for Elite Meetings, and we look forward to Carol’s leadership and participation as we begin a year that promises even bigger accomplishments.”
2009 was EMI’s most exciting year to date, and 2010 promises to be even better. In addition to two highly successful Elite Meetings Alliance (EMA) events, in 2009 Elite Meetings doubled the size of its Advisory Board; quadrupled its unique visitors per month to nearly 20,000 at http://www.EliteMeetings.com; cemented a technology partnership with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT). They also announced two innovative new technologies: FaceTime™, EMI’s proprietary appointment scheduling system, and SpeedRFP™, the only online Request For Proposal (RFP) tool that is completely portable, enabling planners to take meeting, event, and incentive RFPs anywhere on the web, and submit an RFP on any SpeedRFP-enabled site, with as few as 3 clicks.
Both of these innovative technologies will be demonstrated, and actively used to help planners and hotels do business, at three EMAs in 2010, including the first ever offshore EMA in Hawaii, January 24-26, 2010, and at its Spring and Fall EMAs. Additional announcements are expected in coming weeks.
“I am thrilled to join Elite Meetings at this dynamic and promising moment in the company’s development,” said Carol Lynch. She concluded, “Having worked with the EMI team and observed the growth for several years, I am confident that 2010 will be a ‘break-out’ year – and I am happy to be part of it.”
Lynch has spent the majority of her industry experience in the meetings market, both in leading a large team and in establishing client relationships. She has been active for many years in Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). Lynch earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati and resides in Westchester, NY.
