With more than 57,000 members in our organization, you have a chance to meet all types of people. Mensans come from all walks of life, interests and professions
Arlington, TX (Vocus) October 2, 2009
Americans are always up for a challenge, wanting to be at the head of the class. Mensa encourages people nationwide to "Use Your Head" on Oct. 17, 2009 and test for the organization. Local chapters will host test sessions across the country, and anyone who scores in the top two percent on the Mensa Admission Test will be invited to join the organization.
To see if a local chapter will be testing in your area, visit http://www.us.mensa.org/MTD. The test fee is $40 and a photo ID is required. Test takers should show up 30 minutes prior to the test for registration. The test is open to anyone age 14 and older, and parental permission is required for anyone age 14 - 17.
"With more than 57,000 members in our organization, you have a chance to meet all types of people. Mensans come from all walks of life, interests and professions," said Elissa Rudolph, Chairman of American Mensa. "Mensa Testing Day offers those interested a chance to experience what the organization is all about. They will test their IQs, and if they qualify, can participate in fun events, community service and interact with individuals with some of their same interests."
Mensa chapters throughout the country engage each other at local and national events, serve their community through different projects and join more than 160 Special Interest Groups. They each host a wide range of activities each month, including game nights, lectures or group meet-ups.
American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. The organization has more than 57,000 members in the United States and more than 110,000 members around the world. Members of Mensa attend local and national events, join special interest groups such as astronomy and philosophy, and help out in their communities through various projects.
