With low participation fees for both exhibitors and attendees, this career- and business-builder of an event is changing what people expect from a regional conference.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 19, 2010
For the eighth year in a row, interior design industry members have the opportunity to take advantage of METROCON, the exceptionally affordable two-day expo and conference focused on featuring the latest in products and innovative ideas. In an economy that has seen many established interior design industry members out of work for over a year, new graduates struggling to find entry-level jobs, fewer companies covering association dues or professional state registration fees for their employees, and a freeze on raises for those fortunate enough to be employed, METROCON10 Expo & Conference will provide an indispensable service to the design industry.
"With low participation fees for both exhibitors and attendees, this career- and business-builder of an event is changing what people expect from a regional conference," said Presiding Chair, Dianne Etheredge, ASID, IIDA, RID.
METROCON10 will be held at Dallas Market Hall (2200 Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX) on Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13, 2010, and will attract interior designers, architects, facility managers, interior design students, and other vital design industry members, primarily from the Southwest.
The annual event is unique in that it is organized through landmark volunteer collaboration between the Texas Chapter of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and the Texas-Oklahoma Chapter of IIDA (International Interior Design Association). In a determined effort to serve the corporate, healthcare, hospitality, institutional, multifamily, residential, and retail sectors, the two organizations join forces and pool resources to offer the best in exhibitors and interior design continuing education to their members and beyond.
Due to the extreme dedication and hard work of a handful of ASID Texas and IIDA Texas-Oklahoma volunteers who make up the METROCON Committee, as well as the generosity of a variety of show sponsors - including 2010 Title Sponsor, OM Workspace, and 2010 Media Sponsor, Design Guide - prices for both exhibitors and attendees are extremely low relative to similar events around the USA.
Exhibitor booth pricing starts at $4.50/sf for a standard booth for association partners/sponsors and tops out at only $10.50/sf for general vendors when purchasing "Super Premium" space. Sales, which are available on a tiered schedule based upon industry involvement, run online from April 1 - June 18, 2010, and event sponsorships are available through May 2010.
Any ASID or IIDA member attendee gets on the tradeshow floor for free and may take any amount of continuing education for a flat fee of an extremely low $50. All others get access to the tradeshow for only $25 and may take any amount of continuing education for a flat fee of a mere $125. Tradeshow admission is free to all students enrolled in an interior design program. Online attendee registration runs from June 1 - July 30, 2010, and on-site registration is also available for $10 more than online registration fees.
The 2010 Committee anticipates 4,410 seats in 49 classes, a show schedule that will allow an attendee up to 10 continuing education hours over two days while still providing 7.5 hours on the tradeshow floor to engage with vendors and to network with peers. The final course schedule will be posted on the METROCON website mid-May.
