Mets Tickets -- The Last Play at Shea

Mets tickets are hot this year with Santana as the newly signed superstar pitcher. 2008 is also the last year to see the New York Mets play at historic Shea Stadium.

New Jersey (PRWEB) March 13, 2008 -- Mets tickets are popular this year as it's the last year to see the New York Mets play at Shea Stadium. Also this is the year the Mets gained one of the best pitchers in baseball -- Johan Santana. For these reasons, SelectATicket.com is expecting strong sales of Mets tickets.

The Mets collapsed and failed to make the playoffs. This season Reyes says he'll do away with the handshakes and put his focus on playing good baseball.
All eyes are on Santana this season as his was the biggest off-season acquisition, signing on through at least 2013 for $137.5 million. That makes it the largest contract for a pitcher in baseball history.

This is the year to get Mets tickets because it's the last season that the team will play in Shea Stadium in New York City. Shea Stadium is one of the oldest ballparks in the National League and has been home to the New York Mets since it was built in 1964. The stadium will be replaced with Citi Field in 2009.

Fans will also keep their eyes on shortstop Jose Reyes. "Jose Reyes took a lot of heat from the media for his animated celebrations and handshakes last season," said Tom Patania, CEO of Select A Ticket. "The Mets collapsed and failed to make the playoffs. This season Reyes says he'll do away with the handshakes and put his focus on playing good baseball."

The most popular games this year are opening day, the Subway series (NY Mets vs NY Yankees) and the final game at Shea Stadium. Select A Ticket has great choices for seats from the Diamond Club infield to upper level tickets.
