Mobile Fun, the UK’s leading online retailer of mobile accessories, has confirmed its plans for a major expansion into 20 new countries by the end of the current financial year.
Mobile Fun is on track with eight of the 20 sites already launched, as it focuses on the growing international demand for mobile accessories. Since April 2012, the online retailer has extended its international reach with launches in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Ireland and Switzerland. Mobile Fun now has a presence in over 14 countries, with another 12 website launches planned over the next four months across Europe, South America and Asia.

The global market is a major growth driver for Mobile Fun, with international sales accounting for over 30% of our total orders. Although our expansion is a bold move for us, we are confident that our new websites will reinforce the fast growth we have enjoyed internationally so far.”
Mobile Fun is undertaking several initiatives to support the expansion programme including recruiting an international manager for Australia, with other country managers following. These initiatives will ensure that new websites have native-speaking teams with local expertise to drive sales. The international teams are also working on establishing supply chains and partnerships within the new territories, as well as ensuring that country-specific localisations such as preferred payment methods are available.
Mobile Fun’s success stems from the ability to deliver the widest range of accessories for new devices within days of hero product launches. All Mobile Fun websites have access to 6,500 accessories.
Founded in 2000, the independently-owned and award-winning online retailer recently announced that it is seeking a buyer to support the Company in achieving its international expansion ambitions. Mohammed Hussain, Managing Director, Mobile Fun concluded: “During this process, it’s business as usual at Mobile Fun as our team is working on a record Christmas quarter. We’re already experiencing increased sales, following the release of the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini, as well as a number of other hero tablets and smart phones.”
In the financial year ending 31st March 2012, Mobile Fun’s total revenue exceeded £10 million. For year ending 31st March 2013, the Company is on course to launch 20 new countries and hit sales of £12+ million with a predicted EBITDA of £1.2 million.
