The Michigan car accident lawyers at the Southfield law firm of Goodman Acker P.C. recently created an infographic that displays statistics of drunk driving in the U.S. and in the State of Michigan and the damages these types of accidents can cause.

The idea behind the creation of the infographic – “Don’t Let A Drunk Driving Accident Ruin Your Holidays”— was to not only help to spread awareness of the seriousness of drinking and driving and how often it takes place but to also remind people of the importance of not drinking and driving.

Goodman Acker P.C. is a Southfield personal injury law firm that focuses on representing victims injured in Michigan drunk driving accidents.

The car accident lawyers at Goodman Acker P.C. believed this was a good time to release the infographic as, unfortunately, there is a high number of alcohol-impaired drivers on the roads during the holiday season.

Based on Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) 2012 statistics on drinking and driving in Michigan, which are presented in the Goodman Acker P.C. infographic, there were:

  •     35,748 injuries from 10,014 alcohol related crashes
  •     16,469 DUI convictions from 35,748 DUI arrests
  •     259 drunk driving deaths (28% of all traffic related deaths).

The infographic also features alcohol-related holiday fatality statistics, information about when it is illegal to drive in Michigan (what is considered driving impaired under state law) and how alcohol affects your driving.
