Harvest is Coming! Is This the Year to Make Your Own Wine at Judd's
Hill MicroCrush?
Sign-up Deadline is September 1
NAPA, Calif. (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) August 19, 2008 --
Have you ever dreamed of being a Napa Valley winemaker? Want to be part
of the huge growing trend of personalization…which
has also affected the world of winemaking? Consumers have many options
today for making their own wines, which then can be shown off while
entertaining or gift-giving. There’s a Napa
Valley provider of this service: since 1992, Judd’s
Hill MicroCrush has helped clients from around the country make small
lots, as little as one barrel, of hand-crafted customized wine. To
ensure an ample supply of grapes, the winery is asking for prospective
clients to contact winemaker Judd Finkelstein by September 1 (info@napamicrocrush.com)
to sign up for this year’s harvest. The
timeframe for making your own wine at MicroCrush begins with harvest
this fall (approximately October) and extends through at least an eight
month period for white wine and up to a 24-month timeframe for Cabernet
Sauvignon.
Whether you own a vineyard or live in a big city, MicroCrush gives wine
enthusiasts a fun, affordable way to craft their own Napa Valley wine in
the heart of this world famous winemaking region. The service is
all-inclusive, from fruit sourcing through bottling, and clients can
participate as much or as little as they like. In addition to working
with individuals, MicroCrush has helped launch small commercial brands.
The winemakers behind MicroCrush, Art Finkelstein and his son Judd, are
the founders of Whitehall Lane Winery and Judd’s
Hill, 30-year veterans of Napa Valley winemaking.
“Making my own wine at MicroCrush was one of
the most fulfilling and exciting experiences I’ve
ever had,” commented client Tom Alfred of San
Francisco. “I have enormous respect for the
complexity of the process and for the ease and good humor with which
Judd and Art guided me through it.”
With long-time grower relationships, the Finkelsteins source premium
fruit from some of Napa Valley’s most
prestigious vineyards. Or – if a MicroCrush
client is a grape grower – then your own
grapes may be used. Clients choose which aspects of the winemaking
experience in which they wish to be involved hands-on –
from picking and sorting the grapes to designing their own labels.
Opportunities are provided to taste and discuss the wine’s
progress with the winemakers. MicroCrush takes care of all technical
aspects including wine analysis and label approval.
For those with limited time, Judd’s Hill
MicroCrush Bottle Blending Day Camp is a personalized half-day
winemaker-directed blending session that can be scheduled with only 24
hours’ notice. Clients create their own
Bordeaux-style blend before it is hand-bottled with a personalized label
and ready to take home the same day – perfect
for groups of six to twelve. Three, six and twelve bottle as well as
full barrel quantities are available.
Judd’s Hill is located at 2332 Silverado
Trail and is open for tours and tastings by appointment daily. For more
