According to CDC, approximately 1.7 million HAIs occur in U.S. hospitals each year, resulting
in 99,000 deaths and an estimated $20 billion in healthcare costs. Midbrook Medical provides
a summary of infection prevention products designed to cut healthcare costs and save lives.

1.) CuVerro® Antimicrobial Copper Surfaces
CuVerro® Antimicrobial Copper Alloys have been rigorously tested and are regulated as a pesticide by the EPA for their pathogen-killing properties. These copper alloys are used to turn almost any existing healthcare equipment into an antimicrobial copper product. Add antimicrobial copper to your carts, tables, cabinetry and any other product that is currently produced in stainless steel.

CuVerro Products are registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be effective against the following disease-causing bacteria such as; E. coli O157:H7, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus, aureus (MRSA), Staphylococcus aureus (i.e. staph), Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus, faecalis (VRE), Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

The organic nature of copper kills greater than 99% of bacteria within 2 hours of contact. This acts as a continuous disinfection process between regular cleanings.

2.) UV Flash, 60 Second Infection Prevention System
Eliminate E.coli, MRSA, H1N1, SARS, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and many other pathogenic microorganisms. In studies going back more than 70 years, ultraviolet germicidal light (UVC) like that used in UV Flash has been shown to kill more than 300 different germs, including bacteria, viruses, mold, fungi, and yeast. There is no microorganism on earth that is resistant to ultraviolet germicidal light.

UVC based infection prevention solution helps eliminate transient bacteria found on the everyday items and objects used and handled by healthcare workers. UV Flash is designed to quickly and effectively disinfect patient-care equipment as well as personal items of healthcare workers, all known to pose a risk of disease transmission and act as vector for hospital-acquired infections. UV Flash can disinfect a wide range of everyday items in healthcare settings such as; stethoscopes, thermometers, cell phones, keys/ID cards, blood pressure cuffs, laptops and more.

3.) MediCount ATP, Cleanliness Testing Device
MediCount handheld ATP detection device addresses the need for an objective measurement of clean. The MediCount system allows you to customize the detection levels for user-friendly pre-set results coded as Red, Yellow, or Green.

The MediCount cleanliness testing system is comprised of three main parts: a handheld luminometer, sampling kits, and a robust software package that performs trending analysis. The customizable software package tracks the results and helps the facility identify trends based on user-defined parameters such by person, by device, by location, or other criteria.

4.) Tempest, Fully Automated Bioburden Removal System
The Tempest brings high-powered, industrial-grade cleaning with repeatable results to Central Processing Departments. This instrument washer uses a combination of high-powered, tested, and proven washing actions: ultrasonics, enzymatic soaks, agitation, exterior and interior sprays, and air injection bubble cavitation stream. The Tempest combines several types of technology from the automotive, aerospace, and food and beverage industries to revolutionize the way surgical instruments are cleaned.

The Tempest processes 24 lumened instruments in 30 minutes. The special port adaptors accomodate laproscopic, with long narrow lumens, up to 53cm long or 5mm in diameter. The automated process not only frees up time for CSP professionals to work on other instruments, it ensures cleaner, more reapeatable results.
