Pittsfield Campus to Graduate Eighty-Eight Students

Mildred Elley will hold its commencement on Thursday, September 30. Eighty-eight students will receive certificates from nine different programs.

Kristine Hazzard, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Berkshire United Way will be the keynote speaker. Ms. Hazzard is a graduate of Greater Bridgeport Business Council’s Leadership Greater Bridgeport program; was named one of six “Star Employees” for the City of Bridgeport; was honored as a “Community Star” by the Women’s Leadership Council of Greater Bridgeport; and received the 2008 Jan Parks Community Service Award from the Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition. She has a Bachelor’s degree in social welfare from Albright College in Reading, PA and a Master’s degree in Social Work Administration from SUNY-Albany.

Commencement ceremonies will include the presentation of several awards including the Excellence In Teaching Award, the Presidential Award and Academic Achievement Awards.
“We are very proud of the eighty-eight members of our graduating class,” said Thomas J. Elder, Director of Mildred Elley’s Pittsfield Campus. “They are a very talented group of individuals who will bring many unique skills to today’s workforce. We wish them well in their future endeavors.”

Mildred Elley is a private, two-year college in Albany, New York, with branch campuses in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and New York City. Since 1917, Mildred Elley has been educating students in programs of study designed to meet today’s needs. Through the combined campuses, Mildred Elley offers programs in Business Management; Cosmetology; Criminal Justice; Digital Graphics & Multimedia Design; Game Design & 3D Animation; Information Technology; Massage Therapy; Medical Assisting; Office, Project & Event Management; Paralegal Studies; and Practical Nursing.

The media is invited to attend. Commencement will take place at the Crown Plaza, located at One West Street in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on Thursday, September 30, 2010 and will begin at 6:00pm.
