The leading online frequent flyer mileage consolidation service, MileageManager.com, launched this week a redeveloped Web site that includes a first-of-its-kind award availability search feature called AwardPlanner.
The AwardPlanner tool on MileageManager allows members of the site to enter a desired itinerary and find available award tickets for the flight. The member simply enters the departure and destination cities, dates of travel, number and type of award tickets they are seeking, and AwardPlanner begins automatically searching every day, alerting the member when the desired award tickets become available.
"We've been helping frequent flyers manage and redeem their miles for over 20 years," said MileageManager founder and owner, Randy Petersen, "and during that span we've seen travelers become increasingly frustrated as the airlines have made it more and more difficult to redeem their hard-earned miles. Now, using MileageManager and AwardPlanner, travelers have a tool that will allow them to easily find the awards they want with next to no effort."
At the launch, AwardPlanner supports most of the major North American frequent flyer programs, as well as several international programs, including American AAdvantage, Continental OnePass, Delta SkyMiles, Lufthansa Miles & More, Qantas Frequent Flyer, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Southwest Rapid Rewards, United Mileage Plus, and US Airways Dividend Miles.
MileageManager members can search for award availability on up to five itineraries at a time, and can customize their criteria to include searches for first, business, and/or economy-class tickets. Award availability searches are performed daily up until the date of departure, and members are updated whenever availability status changes.
And because AwardPlanner is the only award search availability tool that combines with a mileage management service, members who maintain elite status in searched programs are likely to find available awards when others might not.
In addition to the introduction of the AwardPlanner tool, the MileageManager relaunch also includes updated elite status and expiration policy information, and an improved navigation scheme.
