American Sentinel University was named to the 2013 Military Friendly Schools List by G.I. Jobs Magazine, an honor the school has received for the fifth consecutive year. This distinction puts American Sentinel in the top 20 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students.
The 2013 G.I. Jobs list of Military Friendly Schools was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 8,000 schools. The list provides prospective military students with insight about the student veteran experience at a particular institution based on peer reviews.
“We are honored to be recognized among the top colleges and universities across the country doing the most to embrace and support our active and military veterans,” says retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Paul Capicik, vice president, military programs at American Sentinel University and a 26-year veteran and former corporate CIO.
As a proud supporter of the military, American Sentinel University is committed to providing flexible, accessible distance learning degrees and certification programs that are relevant to students’ military and post-military careers. In addition to military friendly transfer credit policies, discounted tuition rates and acceptance of TA and VA benefits, American Sentinel provides military scholarships that cover 100 percent of the cost of books and most fees for active-duty service members.
Many active military members start voluntary education in military friendly programs at American Sentinel University to gain the additional skills needed in the civilian world. Even after the transition, most have veteran GI Bill benefits to finish what they started on active duty, or broaden their credentials to enhance their value to a civilian employer.
“At American Sentinel University we focus on getting our military students to the end, to graduation. We do this by providing three key elements of support – world-class faculty members, a dedicated student success advisor (SSA) and a military advisor to facilitate program success and ultimately graduation. We make higher education possible for those who serve our country.”
American Sentinel is also an approved participant in the MyCAA military spouse program, which allows the university to offer up to $4,000 in tuition benefits for military spouses.
American Sentinel is a military friendly university, offering military education benefits to active-duty and non-active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, auxiliary and their spouses.
