The Next Viral Fad to Sweep the Internet

AwesomeMillion.com project becomes runaway Internet overnight hit just like the MillionDollarHomePage & OneRedPaperClip.

(PRWEB) August 24, 2006 -- Two Clevelanders calling themselves Awesome Jim and Awesome Dave are trying to help one million people, places or things become really awesome online for $1.00 at a time. The project, called the Awesome Million (http://www.AwesomeMillion.com), provides participants the opportunity to receive their very own exclusive subdomain on IsReallyAwesome.com (for example, Google.IsReallyAwesome.com.)

Judging by the initial reaction from some of the more well-known blogospheres that monitor the latest and greatest Internet viral concepts, such as “Surfing The Long Tail” and “Don The Idea Guy,” Awesome Jim and Awesome Dave are well on their way to becoming Internet success stories similar to the netpreneurs who created the well-known and wildly popular sites, www.milliondollarhomepage.com and www.oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com.

“Awesome million is like the milliondollarhomepage and oneredpaperclip inasmuch as it is a totally original and highly unusual way to create real value out of nothing by telling a unique story and having it go viral. However, AwesomeMillion has one thing the other sites don’t -- it’s hilarious,” said Phoenomi in his blog “Surfing The Long Tail.”

“UN-like the Million Dollar Homepage, a dollar will get you far more than a measly old pixel in the middle of an ugly webpage. A dollar in the AwesomeMillion.com project nets you an exclusive subdomain on IsReallyAwesome.com (example, DonTheIdeaGuy.IsReallyAwesome.com). The page displays a personal and official-looking certificate stating that you are ‘certified really awesome’ by AwesomeMillion.com,” said Don the Idea Guy on his blog. “A buck?? That's cheaper than a greeting card and waaay cooler. Invest $5 and you gain the ability to include a custom link and upload your own 150 x 150 graphic.”

“Who doesn’t want to be really awesome?” said Awesome Dave, project co-founder. “We built this to put smiles on people’s faces, and it’s working. People are buying them as gifts, or buying them for themselves, or their businesses, or even their kids. Plenty of other things too. It’s fun!”

AwesomeMillion.com was created by Cleveland natives Jim Kukral (Awesome Jim), an online marketing expert and professional blogger, and Dave Potokar (Awesome Dave), a veteran creative director & designer, out of their downtown Cleveland, Ohio based studio.

“Will we help one million people, places or things become really awesome?” said Awesome Jim, project co-founder. “Who knows, but at the very least we made a few million people laugh or smile in the process, even if they didn’t become members.”
