I'm thrilled to win the award
Austin, TX (PRWEB) December 2, 2008
MindBites, the web marketplace and publishing platform for video instructional content, today announced the winners of its Parenting video contest, the Baby Formula. Leanne Cummins of Wollongong, Australia won the grand prize of $1000 for her lesson, How to Introduce Healthy Food to Baby, and Tony Siciliano's video lesson, How to Make a Child Memory Showcase, won the $500 People's Choice award. The contest also served to benefit and raise awareness for Any Baby Can, a non-profit focused on bringing help to the community's youngest, sickest and poorest children and their families.
"I'm thrilled to win the award," said grand prize winner, Leanne Cummins. "It's a pleasure to help out other parents by showing them what I know and providing them with information and insights from other qualified experts, and MindBites has helped me to do just that with people all over the world."
Entries for the contest included videos on introducing healthy baby food, understanding child shyness, making play dough, teaching your baby sign language, making a tutu, and much more. Volunteer judges for the contest included the members of the MindBites team along with Ann Crady from BabyCenter and Maya's Mom blog, Margot Potter the Inpatient Crafter (a former MindBites craft contest winner), Erika Jurney from the Plain Jane Mom blog in addition to some excited representatives of Any Baby Can. Children and Parenting video lessons along with many other content categories are available for purchase at MindBites.com for $1.99. Popular lessons in the Children and Parenting category include Baby Sign Language, Taking Child Portraits and Cloth Diapering.
MindBites Founder and CEO Jason Reneau says that "the Children and Parenting category is a perfect example of a subject that new parents desperately need to find help with very specific tasks like how to swaddle a baby, how to bathe a newborn and how to approach potty training. We are also excited to have worked with and gotten to know the wonderful people over at Any Baby Can. They are a truly special organization that helps a lot of people."
