We are also well placed to offer independent advice on the purchase and supply of existing minibuses from the key manufacturers.

Dorset based vehicle hire specialists Abacus, has announced the launch of a new design, build and sales division specifically for Minibuses. Since 1987 the company has provided a hire service and the sister company Horton Vehicles has successfully created bespoke minibuses for a range of customers. Managing Director Dave Wolfenden says that until now the ability within the group has not been developed. Ron Bray, a former Sales Manager with Red Kite Minibuses and PHVC Vehicle Management, has joined Abacus as Minibus Account Manager.

"We are delighted that Ron is in place to develop the corporate, education and welfare markets and utilise the skills that already exist within the group," said Dave Wolfenden. "We are also well placed to offer independent advice on the purchase and supply of existing minibuses from the key manufacturers."

Conversions or complete from-chassis-up designs are now being promoted with the primary focus on safety and accessibility, including the latest in wheelchair lift technology, as a member of RoSPA (Royal Society of the Prevention of Accidents) But Ron Bray says that fittings including tables, quick release blinds, microwave links for TV, DVD and catering facilities can make the best use of space.

Finance options for either sales or contract hire will be offered whilst the company continues to provide a full hire service from their fleet of 300 trucks, vans, cars and motorhomes.

Full information can be found on the Abacus Minibus website.
