We’ll explain how quality professionals can effectively assess the entire measurement system by performing an Expanded Gage R&R Study using Minitab Statistical Software.
State College, Pa. (PRWEB) May 02, 2012
Quality improvement professionals rely on statistical tools like Gage R&R to assess the precision of measurement systems used to collect data for controlling quality in critical processes. Traditionally, Gage R&R studies focus on just two factors—parts and operators—but including additional factors can help paint a more complete picture of a measurement system.
To help quality professionals attending the ASQ 2012 World Conference in Anaheim, Calif. understand how to include factors beyond parts and operators in their Gage R&R studies, Minitab experts will present "Implementing an Expanded Gage R&R Study" on Monday, May 21, 2012 starting at 3 p.m. in room 207C.
The presenters, Lou Johnson, Minitab technical training specialist, and Steve Bailey, master black belt at DuPont, will discuss industry applications of Expanded Gage R&R studies.
“Simply repeating the standard study for additional factors is incomplete and often inefficient,” Johnson says. “We’ll explain how quality professionals can effectively assess the entire measurement system by performing an Expanded Gage R&R Study using Minitab Statistical Software.”
Minitab representatives will be on hand throughout the ASQ World Conference, starting with the opening reception May 20, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the exhibit hall. Attendees are invited to stop at the Minitab booth (#403) to learn more about the company’s products and services, which also include training, statistical mentoring and free technical support.
Two other sessions, beginning at 10 a.m. in booth 202, will include demonstrations that detail the features built into Minitab’s most recent software releases.
"Mapping the Value Stream" with Quality Companion will illustrate how Minitab’s powerful process improvement software can quickly create value stream maps to streamline, eliminate waste from and add value to processes. "Minitab: A GPS for Statistics" will highlight Minitab Statistical Software’s Assistant feature, which offers interactive decision trees for choosing the right analysis and comprehensive reports that allow even novices to easily analyze data with confidence.
