“I am asking Minnesota and Wisconsin homeowners to contact me at 763-447-3925 for more information while we still have time to get their short sale loans approved, and save them tens of thousands of dollars,” Kris Lindahl explains.

The top Edina real estate agent, Kris Lindahl, who is a preferred Wells Fargo Short Sale agent, understands that homeowners only have a few months left to get their short sale loans approved, or it could cost them thousands of extra dollars in taxes. Kris Lindahl remarks, “Without a 2007 Mortgage Debt Relief Act extension in place, homeowners that do not get their short sale loan completed before the end of 2012, could stand to owe the IRS tens of thousands of dollars in taxes.”

“The reason these homeowners would owe additional taxes,” Kris Lindahl explains, is “the 2007 Mortgage Debt Relief Act allows the homeowner to not claim the amount of debt that the bank waives, or forgives in a short sale as income. Without the 2007 Mortgage Debt Relief Act in place, homeowners will have to claim any forgiven debt by the bank as income, and depending upon their tax bracket could owe $20,000, $50,000, or more in additional taxes.”

Kris Lindahl has been working around the clock trying to get as many short sale loans approved as possible before the end of the year, to help homeowners get their homes pushed through the short sale process so they will not owe the additional taxes. “With this being an election year, the extension for the 2007 Mortgage Debt Relief Act could possibly get lost in the shuffle, and the homeowners will have to pay the price,” Kris Lindahl reports.

“I am confident that Congress will get an extension for the 2007 Mortgage Debt Relief Act, I just do not know if it will happen before the end of the year, since it is already mid August,” explains the top Edina Realty short sale agent, Kris Lindahl. “There have already been three attempts to get an extension for the 2007 Mortgage Debt Relief Act passed, but all three have failed,” says Kris Lindahl.

“With so many homeowners struggling because of the current state of the economy, the effects of homeowners owing tens of thousands of extra dollars in taxes would be devastating, and cause even more economic turmoil in America,” Kris Lindahl reports. “That is why I have put a Short Sale Team into place, along with websites like the WisconsinShortSaleCalculator.com and the MNShortSaleCalculator.com site, which help people find out if their home is eligible for a short sale,” Kris Lindahl adds.

“I am asking Minnesota and Wisconsin homeowners to contact me at 763-447-3925 or visit one of the short sale calculator websites for more information while we still have time to get their short sale loans approved, and save them tens of thousands of dollars,” Kris Lindahl explains.
