MassageSchoolSanDiego.com, a supporter of healthy eating and San Diego massage schools, gives its "step forward" awards regularly to organizations, groups and individuals who make a difference in the healthy living industry.
Students in the child development class at Blue Mountain High School in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, recently hosted a healthy eating patterns class for local pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. The class, which was hosted in the BMHS cafeteria, was called “Celebrating Farm to School Week with Healthy Snacks.” Beverly Baylis, South Tippah Food Service Director, and Nick Simmons, County Extension Agent, also helped present the class. Participants learned about local produce and farms, how their schools utilize local farm products, and how to create healthy snacks for themselves. The class was presented as part of Mississippi’s Farm to School Week and marked the second time BMHS students have hosted it according to the Tippah360.
Blue Mountain High School is located in Tippah County in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. Led by Principal Eddie Connor, BMHS is home to grades 7 through 12 and is a part of the South Tippah School District. The school boasts athletic teams in basketball, softball and baseball.
Blue Mountain is a town located in the Northern region of Mississippi. Home to just 670 residents, Blue Mountain has an area of 1.2 square miles and is home to a small private university called Blue Mountain Christian College.

As part of the program, schools build on-site produce gardens, partner with area farmers, and host campus educational programs to teach students about healthy eating habits. The program is a national movement.
