The other philanthropy is the specialized medical care in underdeveloped countries. The Smile Train Foundation provides free cleft surgery to hundreds of thousands of poor children in developing countries. With over 2300 partner surgeons Smile Train Foundations has helped children from around 87 countries. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are millions of children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Every single child with a cleft can be helped with surgery that costs as little as $250 and takes as little as 45 minutes.
