As an adoptee who was born and grew up in New York and now living in California – I am pleased to be leading an organization that will make a difference and provide an opportunity for adoptees and their families to leave a legacy through the Foundation
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2013
The Mixed Roots Foundation announces and welcomes its new Board of Directors. Mixed Roots is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with its global headquarters in San Francisco, CA and is the first and only national and global multicultural adoptee led foundation that cross sects the international, domestic, and foster care adoption experience.
With the recent strategic planning meeting that took place earlier in January, the Board of Directors unanimously voted to focus on two primary goals for 2013. These goals are: to establish a national adoption mentoring initiative that will provide positive adult adoptee role models to adopted and foster youth and to officially launch the Global Adoptee Genealogy Project (GAGP) which will allow adoptees to discover their own biological and cultural roots through DNA testing.
