Mixr, Inc. today announced the availability of its first “people discovery” game, also called Mixr. The company, formed earlier this year, leverages the expertise of its founding team at building highly scalable communication products paired with a successful track record of developing and publishing top-selling videogames.
Mixr is a game designed to drive social connection through a unique mix of real-time people discovery, chat and animated gameplay. Blending direct interaction with the escapism of life-simulation titles like The Sims, the game will launch on iPhones for US consumers this fall. An early-release version of the title is currently available in the UK, Canada and Australia.

McGarvey was previously CEO of Eidos, PLC, the interactive entertainment publisher that created hit gaming franchises such as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Hitman. Prior to Mixr, McGarvey was the founding COO of OnLive, the groundbreaking cloud-gaming company.
Among other experienced executives, McGarvey is joined by Chief Marketing Officer Brogan Keane, who worked alongside McGarvey as head of marketing at both OnLive and Eidos/Domark.
