Insights, expertise and discussion about the top economic issues and opportunities for Wisconsinites involved in business transactions will be front and center at a conference next week in Milwaukee. The Midwest Business Brokers & Intermediaries Wisconsin Chapter will host "Best Practices in Tough Markets" at the Milwaukee Athletic Club from Noon until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2009. Speakers and attendees will include industry experts from throughout the Midwest, who are M&A intermediaries, investment bankers, commercial bankers/lenders, accountants, transactional attorneys, financial advisors, private equity groups specializing in business brokerage, business brokers and valuation service providers.

Many businesses being sold in the last half of 2009 are distressed businesses. This presentation will address how selling or acquiring a distressed business is different from traditional selling or buying opportunities as well as how to maximize value for a client.
In addition to the presentations, the conference will include a Deal Mart (where attendees can network to put deals together or gain assistance with current deals), lunch and an after-event networking time.
