Oxygen Software updates Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012, the company’s flagship mobile forensic tool, adding numerous enhancements to version 4.1. The new release allows investigators aggregating suspects’ contacts, accessing them from multiple sources in a single view. The newly added Messengers group aggregates suspects’ contacts and communications across different types of instant messengers. In addition, two more Web browsers are added, global search and export engine improved.

Aggregate Data Analysis

Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 v4.1 adds a number of aggregate data analysis options, allowing forensic specialists to analyze suspects’ contacts and communications across the different types of sources.

Aggregated Contacts

Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 4.1 adds support for the Aggregated Contacts section, allowing forensic specialists to analyze contacts from multiple different sources such as the Phonebook, Messages, Event Log, Skype, Gmail and Yahoo apps, Foursquare, and so on. By enabling aggregated contacts analysis, Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 greatly simplifies investigators’ work and allows discovering relations and dependencies that could otherwise escape the eye.

Instant Messenger Conversations at a Glance

The newly added Messengers group accumulates the analysis of data available from a range of instant messengers. Supporting Facebook Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger for Android OS devices, Whatsapp, Kik Messenger, Touch (formerly PingChat!) for Apple and Android OS devices, Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 4.1 extracts all important information and enables access to suspect’s messages and conversations, reconstructs communication circles, allows viewing uploaded images etc.

Support for New Mobile Browsers and Other Improvements

Version 4.1 of the company’s flagship mobile forensics product adds support for two additional Web browsers: SkyFire for Apple iOS devices and Dolphin Browser Mini for Android OS, extending the list of applications available for analysis even further.

Other improvements include a re-worked interface in the Global search panel and a new export engine for faster generation of comprehensive reports.
