Mobile Marketing Max and Ada Jenkins Center Join Up to Create Charlotte, NC Area First Mobile Enhanced Fundraiser.

Mobile Marketing Max, Charlotte, NC’s leading mobile marketing agency, today announced that the first mobile enhanced fundraiser in the area will take place April 30th at the Ada Jenkins Center, in Davidson, NC.

The Ada Jenkins Center’s annual Fire Event, a BBQ competition for local grillers and 5K run, will for the first time be using mobile technology to build awareness for the Non Profit, as well as personal engagement with the center during the event.

Development Director of the Ada Jenkins Center, Natisha Rivera-Patrick said, “Our ability to utilize mobile marketing media has allowed us the opportunity to increase awareness of the Ada Jenkins Center through the integration of technology which has provided us flexibility and the ability to reach more individuals. We are adding a component to our event that would not be possible without the use of such technology.”

Mobile Marketing Max’s fundraising branch is available through GoMobileFundraiser.com, which hosts a mobile website for the Fire 2011 event and aids mobile fundraising for Non Profits. Fran Jeanes, founder of the mobile marketing agency, said, "We attended the event last year and loved it. When we found out about the work that the Ada Jenkins Center does, we wanted to get involved. GoMobileFundraiser.com grew out of that desire and we look forward to helping many more Non Profits increase awareness and raise more money."

Rivera-Patrick revealed just some of the event’s mobile strategy: “This year, we will have our guests vote via text message for their favorite competitor’s BBQ giving them the “people’s choice” award. It’s just another fun way to get everyone involved and we are excited to have the opportunity to do something different that utilizes mobile media. We are energized about the opportunities this type of promotion brings to the Center and will utilize it in the future!”

Awareness was enhanced for the event when the Ada Jenkins Center added QR codes to their flyers, stuffers, t-shirts and programs for the first time. Popular barcode scanning apps on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry are able to read the code and go directly to the mobile web site for the event, GoMobileFundraiser.com/fire-2011. The event will also feature proximity advertising done via Bluetooth, where the center will connect with cell phone users who activate the Bluetooth on their phones.

Fran Jeanes added, “The use of these types of mobile marketing has become more and more commonplace in Europe, where mobile technology has historically preceded widespread adoption in the US market by 1-2 years. Using the technology to assist in fundraising is something many have not seen before. In this case, the event and the technology seemed like a perfect fit.”

“It's very rewarding to be able to do a small part in helping the community. Folks can sign up to run as well as buy tickets right on their phones,” explained Jeanes. “This is a great organization and we wanted to make the community getting involved as simple as possible. I just feel that when you make the right thing to do, the easiest thing to do, good things are bound to happen.”
