The 2008 Global Mobile Awards judges called Cellufun's Call of the Pharaoh "one of two outstanding entries that the judges just couldn't split, so a joint winner. Call of the Pharaoh introduces social networking to games, you can't win this all on your own, you need to call in your buddies. Beware, don't start this game just before bedtime or you will spend all night on it!"

The Global Mobile Awards, oft considered the "Oscars" of the mobile industry, are the official awards of the Mobile World Congress, the world's largest and most successful mobile industry event, which is produced and managed by the GSM Association. The GSMA is the operator-led trade association for the global mobile industry, with a membership including more than 700 network operators who provide mobile communications services across more than 218 countries of the world.

A panel of independent judges comprising leading industry and subject matter experts, analysts, journalists and academics judged the awards.

"Each year as the influence of mobile communications spreads further to enhance more and more aspects of people's lives, the scope of the Awards become greater, and the competition becomes more intense as a result," said GSMA CEO, Rob Conway. "Because the mobile world is such an amazing universe of opportunities, its gravitational forces are pulling other industries into its realm - Internet, finance, advertising, music and film. Many of tonight's winners reflect that premise, and as we celebrate 20 years since the foundations for global mobile communication were laid, they demonstrate not only how far we have come, but also the limitless possibilities of where innovation and inspiration can take us in the years ahead."

Cellufun's Global Mobile Award win comes hot on the heels of their designation as one of the NATPE Mobile++ Top 12 for their "Mobile Ring" game in the Gaming category.
