SolidLabs Revolutionizes Mobile Chat with New FlashLite Client

SolidLabs introduces the first cross-platform mobile chat application that enables real-time communication between Java and FlashLite mobile devices. Users can also exchange chat and instant messages with Mac and PC users across networks including MSN, ICQ, Yahoo and AIM for convenient management of one Buddy list.

Barcelona, Spain (PRWEB) February 12, 2007 -- SolidLabs, a leading developer of premium mobile content and applications and provider of content aggregation services, has announced the release of GLOW, a FlashLite mobile chat client. GLOW is based on ChatBlazer, a long-time industry leader in chat and instant messaging. Previously only available for Java-based mobile devices, SolidLabs will unveil the new FlashLite client at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain February 12-15 in booth number 7F57.

The launch of GLOW's new FlashLite client makes it the very first cross platform mobile chat application with both Java and FlashLite clients. Most mobile chat solutions use SMS to deliver individual messages across the mobile network and thus only enable mobile users to communicate with other mobile users. Certainly there are other chat applications exist that enable mobile users to chat with both mobile and computer-based users, but only to users with an account on the same network.

Using the GLOW downloadable client, users can chat with other mobile users on both FlashLite and Java-based devices. They can also exchange chat and instant messages with Mac and PC users across multiple platforms and networks including MSN, ICQ, Yahoo and AIM for convenient management of one Buddy list.

The use of instant messaging has quickly become a preferred mode of communication both for personal use and in business. According to an AOL survey, approximately 70% of persons online communicate via IM and 28% of people use it at work. Meanwhile, Informa Telecoms & Media predicts that messaging will dominate the mobile industry, generating over half the total projected revenue of $150 billion by 2011.

Telecommunications companies can use GLOW to develop additional revenue streams by offering public and themed, moderated chat rooms and events. GLOW can also be completely skinned to reflect an organization's identity and brand and the comprehensive server API links together billing, content and SMS gateways for a fully customized solution.

Consumers also gain the benefit of a truly engaging chat experience with animated widgets, transition effects, and special audio effects. Users can develop dynamic user profiles, whisper private messages to one another, create buddy lists, one-to-one file sharing, receive alerts when buddies are online, and create their own Private chat rooms with the option to password protect them.

"It's no secret that voice based data revenue streams are declining," said Jim Capps, president of SolidLabs. "Telecommunications companies are thus trying to expand data-based services to add value to their user's mobile experience. With mobile devices fast becoming an integral part of daily life, both as a social networking and business tool, flash based devices enable greater functionality and additional revenue streams for wireless providers and MVNOs. SolidLabs is leading the way with the most robust mobile chat application available on the market."
