Mobile Marketer has named Marjorie DeHey Daleo into the upper echelon of professional women expected to influence the mobile entertainment and media industry for the better in 2012.
Recently, Ms. DeHey Daleo was named as one of 25 rising stars among women in mobile entertainment marketing, in Mobile Marketer’s December 2011 issue. Ms. DeHey Daleo is currently the North American General Manager for MEF, a global community for mobile content and commerce, and a Partner at MediaMojos, an international entertainment and mobile media consulting firm. Marjorie credits her numerous industry successes to her ability to grasp the shifting complexities inherent to the mobile marketing and media environment. “Adapting to the industry’s fast-paced technological changes and developing a sharp eye for emerging opportunities has allowed me to help my clients capture and retain a competitive edge,” she said.
Ms. DeHey Daleo brings more than 15 years of digital media and mobile entertainment experience to her clients and business partners. As highlighted in the Mobile Marketer interview, one of Ms. DeHey Daleo’s crowning achievements was helping to grow the Irish telecom and entertainment industries over the course of four years, expanding their total revenue by over $75 million.
She began her career at MGM Studios, where she worked on the original interactive products for the James Bond series. “As a strategist, I recognized that it is crucial for companies to be willing to experiment, take chances and evolve with emerging technologies,” she said. “My most effective mobile campaigns have been with companies willing to take a chance. If you want to boost end-user activity (and revenues), you have to think like a consumer and really understand why they use your product or service. There is so much competition out there, you have less than 15 seconds to impress your end user - thus, you need to be smart and different.”
Ms. DeHey Daleo is a graduate of UCLA’s Anderson School of Business MBA program, where she majored in Marketing. She also earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Cornell University and her JD from California Western. She is often requested to share her expertise in new media, social media and strategic acquisitions as a guest speaker at major universities such as UCLA, USC and Madonna University, as well as major events such as Digital Hollywood and the American Corporate Counsel Association’s Annual Summit. She is very active in the entertainment community, promoting upcoming filmmakers at various film festivals, red carpet events and charity functions.
