What I love about Modality's apps is the fact that they're easy, portable, and yet comprehensive
Durham, NC (Vocus) July 15, 2010
Modality, Inc., the premier mobile learning architects for iPhone®, iPod touch® and iPad™, today reported that medical students are embracing USMLE prep on iPhone and iPod touch with its popular line of medical education and test prep apps. The United States Medical Licensing Examination, or USMLE, is a required three-step examination that tests students’ preparedness for medical practice.
Modality’s USMLE prep apps offer blocks of 50 to more than 1,000 board-style questions for Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3, from leading brands like First Aid, Lange, PreTest, and USMLE Consult. Questions are categorized according to content area, allowing users to build customized quizzes based on their study preferences at any given time. Detailed statistics indicate the user’s strong and weak spots to deliver a more streamlined approach to studying. Question browser mode provides unscored review of all content sections, and each app includes the ability to bookmark and save specific questions for further study.
“What I love about Modality's apps is the fact that they're easy, portable, and yet comprehensive,” commented second-year medical student Jerel Chacko. “Digital questions are obviously much lighter and less space-consuming than review books or flashcards.”
“The USMLE examinations require months of extensive preparation,” said Nate O’Keefe, director of publishing at Modality. “Just a few more minutes of review every day can amount to a big difference in test performance, so staying focused and engaged is critical. Modality’s core principles of creating a superior user experience combine with the revolutionary design of iPhone and iPod touch to keep users moving quickly through high volumes of material, while providing meaningful assessment data every step of the way”
Modality’s USMLE test prep catalog spans 16 apps, including:
