Moelis & Company Announces Gregory J. Shaia has Joined as a Managing Director

Moelis & Company announced today that Greg Shaia has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Shaia, who has almost 20 years of investment banking and private equity experience, will lead the firm’s coverage effort in the consumer and retail sector.

Mr. Shaia joins from Bear Stearns where he most recently was the Head of Retail and Apparel Investment Banking. While at Bear Stearns, Mr. Shaia built a leading franchise advising retail and apparel companies on a wide variety of corporate finance transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, public and private equity and debt financings, and financial restructurings. Prior to joining Bear Stearns in 2004, Mr. Shaia was a Managing Director and ran Soft-Lines and Broad-Lines Retail and Apparel Investment Banking at Citigroup and before that was a Principal in the Consumer and Retail Investment Banking Group at Deutsche Banc Alex Brown.
