Monarch Community Outreach is a great charity that benefits many organizations in our community.

Adrift Adventures, a wilderness rafting company in Dinosaur National Monument, announced a fundraiser to benefit Monarch Community Outreach – a community-based charity run by Monarch Mountain – where it will donate $100 and give a $100 discount for select multi-day rafting trips on the Green River and Yampa River to span June 12 – August 23, 2013.

Select multi-day rafting trips include a five-day Yampa River rafting trip to launch June 12, 2013 with a discount rate of $745 per person; and select four-day Green River rafting trips to launch June 28, July 5, July 11, July 15, July 20, July 21, August 2, August 8 and August 23, 2013 with a discount rate of $685 per person, according to Eileen Peterson, general manager, River Runners and Adrift Adventures.

“We are excited to give back to Chaffee County through this exciting fundraiser,” Peterson said. “Monarch Community Outreach is a great charity that benefits many organizations in our community.”

In order to receive the discount and make the donation to Monarch Community Outreach participants must mention this fundraiser at time of booking, according to Peterson.

“Adrift Adventures operates in Utah, but is headquartered right here in Buena Vista, Colo.,” Peterson explained. “We have worked with Monarch Mountain in the past and this seemed like a fun way to raise money for the community.”

Both rafting trips start in northwest Colorado and end in northeast Utah after the confluence of the Yampa River and Green River. Intermediate class III and class IV rapids will be encountered, but no prior rafting experience is necessary.

Yampa River and Green River multi-day rafting trips in Dinosaur National Monument with Adrift Adventures are professionally guided, all-inclusive and self-contained with a full kitchen, several hand washing stations and portable toilet facilities. Camps are remote and accessible only by watercraft.
